The familiar twelve-part zodiac has roots in ancient Mesopotamian ideas and images. Studying that history can reveal how people organized the sky and connected it with beliefs. Astrology is not a scientific method for predicting your personality or future. Our manuscript-like image is generated, not an ancient artifact. Read it as a cultural illustration, and use the museum object record to explore actual evidence.
