Develop three writing prompts into one coherent account

By UK GCSE Spanish · independent study · myAudience

Three fictional adult people gather around one table in an invented learning gallery. An open illustrated book, an open notebook with a person writing, a creased map and a framed invented portrait are visible. The portrait is a painting, not a fourth person physically present; no real museum, city, artist or artwork is authenticated.

Develop three writing prompts into one coherent account

A three-prompt writing response needs connected relevant information, not three unrelated copied sentences. approximately ninety-word task is common to both tiers. The target length helps plan development, but word count by itself is not a grade or proof of quality. In this original practice task, write for a friend about your usual reading activity, yesterday’s outing and a plan for next weekend.

First assign content to each prompt: routine and reason; a completed outing with another person’s activity; a future intention with a reason. Decide who performs each action before selecting verbs. A varied account can use ordinary accurate language rather than an unstudied construction added only for decoration. A reason or contrast should clarify the relevant point; it must not replace a missing prompt.

The worked response is an original model, not the only acceptable answer. It develops routine with a quiet setting and different preferences, reports a museum visit and purchases, then proposes a later shared reading activity. It keeps completed events apart from deseos, or wishes. Learners may use fictional circumstances rather than disclose their actual home, family, school or travel plans.

After drafting, underline evidence for each of the three prompts. Then label subject/person, tense and negative scope at every finite verb. A paragraph can include because, but and afterwards yet remain inaccurate if those links connect the wrong events. Revise for meaning before adding another adjective. The purpose is a clear account for the intended reader, not a checklist of grammatical names.

The gallery illustration’s book and writing materials can inspire a fictional outing, but they do not establish the model writer’s actual routine. Notice those prompts and distinguish them from the invented narrative. Transfer the method to a different topic with new constraints instead of memorizing this paragraph. Full unseen writing, independent assessment and the separate Higher extended-writing task remain unfinished.

Worked example: Write about ninety Spanish words for a friend, addressing all three original prompts: usual reading and reason; yesterday’s outing; next weekend’s plan.

Develop the routine using present verbs, a reason and another person’s contrasting preference.

Report yesterday with preterite forms; keep the different purchasers clear.

Give a future plan, its purpose and enough detail to connect it to the earlier outing.

Check your understanding: Adapt the plan when yesterday’s outing was cancelled and next Saturday Ana must study at home. What must change, and give a coherent three-sentence alternative that preserves the routine, cancelled event and separate plans.

Answer: For example: Normalmente leo en casa porque me gusta la tranquilidad. Ayer no fuimos al museo. El próximo sábado voy a leer en la biblioteca, pero Ana tiene que estudiar en casa. The completed trip and shared future plan must both be revised rather than leaving contradictory clauses.

Why: The new constraints affect temporal truth and participant agreement, not just a noun. The routine can stay; the past must become negative and the future plans must distinguish the speaker from Ana. This short transfer is a diagnostic, not itself a complete ninety-word submission.
