The empty corner can stay empty

By Home décor · myAudience

AI-generated fictional interior illustration: A modest cream sitting room with a clearly empty corner beside a doorway, olive sofa and one abstract print. Not a photograph of a real home.

Check what a gap contributes before filling it.

A corner without furniture can seem unfinished in a photograph and feel exactly right when you walk through the room. Before choosing a plant stand or a spare chair, watch how that space works during the day. Does a door open there? Do you turn there carrying laundry?

Move an existing chair into the corner temporarily, then take it away. Compare the route and the view from the doorway. If the added object has no useful job, the gap may already be doing the work you need.

Keep ventilation, heaters and access points clear. A room does not need an object at every change of direction. You can give a nearby wall attention with the art you already own while letting the floor remain open.
