The object you can put away

By Home décor · myAudience

AI-generated fictional interior illustration: A walnut console with one cream vessel and generous empty surface, a closed storage box beneath. Not a photograph of a real home.

Sometimes the most useful styling experiment is removal. Choose one surface that feels crowded and put a few nonessential objects safely away for a week.

Keep the objects that have daily jobs and one thing you enjoy looking at. Use the surface normally and notice what returns to it. A missing accessory may be missed for its story, its usefulness or simply not at all.

Store fragile items suitably rather than piling them elsewhere. Do not turn the experiment into pressure to discard belongings. You can bring a favourite piece back with more room around it, or rotate it with another one later.
